Now that the NDA has been lifted, we are proud to announce the release of our Warhammer Online website and wiki! These community tools are a culmination of months of effort that we hope will help to serve the community in all of their Warhammer Online needs.

At the site's heart is a wiki like no other. We've tailored it in a way that incorporates many elements you'd find when viewing a game database. Check out the WAR Abilities section of the wiki to understand a bit about how it is structured like a database. This is a really exciting feature because everyone gets a chance to build upon collected game information in a flexible and evolving environment as found in any normal wiki.

Bludwyng is our resident wiki expert and has done a tremendous job in building out the structure. You can read his post about the wiki here . We have complete WAR ability, race, quest, mob and zone categories, just to name a few. There are also articles that are brought in from the history of the entire Warhammer universe. Expect a lot of tweaking and editing to be done as we continue to expand upon what you see here. But for now, get in there and help the community in building up the WAR wiki ! And don't forget our WAR forums !

To kick off the Games Convention at Leipzig, Mythic has released a new cinematic trailer for Warhammer Online . It's long, but oh so beautiful. After getting home from vacation two days late because of flights cancelled due a hurricane that never happened (thanks a lot, Fay!), this is exactly the type of thing I needed to see. Enjoy !

After months of eager anticipation, those that have been waiting for access to the beta may now know their wait is about to end. WAR Open Beta begins on Sept. 7th... Waaagh!

Now you can experience the glory of battle and the thrill of WAR before the game goes live! Players can get into the WAR open beta by pre-ordering Warhammer Online from select retail partners . Participants of the closed beta will automatically be granted open beta access.

Pre-Order Customers

1. Visit the new Mythic Account Management website to create your Warhammer Online game account. When prompted, enter your Open Beta code. If you have previously entered your Open Beta code in the Beta Center, you will need to enter it again when you create your WAR game account at the new account management site.

2. Download the open beta client from Fileplanet.com . You will be required to create a free FilePlanet account and input your open beta pre-order code to access the file.

Closed Beta Participants

1. If you are currently in the WAR closed beta, you will automatically be granted access to the open beta. Simply continue to patch your client and you'll be ready to play.

The Open Beta will be level capped and content restricted. You will be allowed to choose any of the game's 20 unique careers and advance through rank 20. You will also be free to explore and battle across Tiers 1 and 2 of each army's homeland. Please note that any characters created during the Open Beta will NOT carry over into the live game as they will be wiped from the servers.

This information is valid only for North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Hi all,

I've been floating around the boards this evening and I see there's a lot of misconception about what's happening today (Friday the 15th) and some additional concerns.

Firstly let me just get it out of the way:

Today is not the start of Open Beta nor Preview Weekend. You will have advanced notice to these dates and as of yet we have not announced them. The only thing occurring today is that later on we will be activating all Pre-Order (CE & SE) Open Beta and Head Start codes (hold onto all of your codes though!) This is the first step in preparations towards hosting a live environment and the pre-launch events ahead.

WAR is Coming!

And so we must be ready...

Tomorrow the Mythic Account Center will begin accepting all Open Beta and Head Start Keys allowing all Pre-Order customers to register their accounts and prepare for the weeks ahead.

We'll provide instructions and let you know when it's open tomorrow, but we wanted to announce tonight that up to the first 50 thousand Standard Edition Open-Beta keys registered will be invited to the upcoming Preview Weekend in addition to all of our registered Collectors Edition Pre-Order customers!

While we haven't announced any dates yet be rest assured that the next few weeks are going to be action packed and this is your only way to get into the preview weekend if you missed out on the Collector's Edition.
